Welcome to The AI Shortcut

Welcome

Hi, I’m Mika Munoz and welcome to The AI Shortcut, your go-to resource for making sense of artificial intelligence without the hype, the jargon, or the gatekeeping.

Why I Started This Site

I started The AI Shortcut because I have ADHD, and I’m always looking for ways to work smarter instead of harder. (I’m still waiting for AI to figure out how to clean my house — when that launches, I’ll let you know.)

If you also have ADHD (or live with someone who does), you probably already know what I mean. Tasks that don’t come with an obvious dopamine reward are genuinely hard for us to start. Sustaining focus on the boring-but-necessary stuff — emails, admin work, even basic daily routines — can feel like pushing a car uphill. So when I find a tool that actually removes friction from my day, it’s not just convenient. It’s the difference between getting something done and it sitting on my to-do list for three weeks.

AI has been a genuine game-changer for me. Tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity let me offload the parts of my brain that don’t work reliably. I can draft something in 20 minutes that used to take me 3 hours of staring at a blank screen. I can research a topic by asking questions instead of reading 15 tabs. I can use automation to handle the repetitive tasks that my brain would otherwise forget or procrastinate on.

But here’s what I noticed as I started exploring: most AI content out there is either written for engineers — full of technical jargon nobody explains — or so surface-level it’s basically useless. There wasn’t a good middle-ground resource for curious everyday people (especially neurodivergent ones) who want to actually use AI to make life easier. So I built one.

Who’s Behind The AI Shortcut?

I’m a tech enthusiast, writer, and lifelong learner with a background in technology and operations. I spend my days testing AI tools, tracking the latest model releases, and figuring out which of these tools actually save time versus which ones are just marketing fluff. Then I translate everything into plain-English guides, reviews, and news you can actually use.

Outside of The AI Shortcut, I also run Miki Money AI — a personal finance blog for people (like me) with ADHD brains who need money systems that actually stick. If this site is about AI broadly, that one is about a very specific corner of it: how AI and smart systems are changing personal finance for regular people.

Our Mission

AI should work for everyone — not just developers and data scientists. My mission is to help everyday people understand, adopt, and benefit from artificial intelligence in practical ways. Every article I publish is designed to save you time, help you make smarter decisions, and keep you ahead of the curve in a rapidly changing world.

Because at the end of the day, the goal isn’t AI for its own sake. It’s a life with less friction, more energy, and more room for the things that actually matter.

Editorial Integrity

The AI Shortcut is an independently run publication. Some articles contain affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through my links — at no extra cost to you. This helps support the site and allows me to keep publishing free, high-quality content. My recommendations are always based on genuine research and hands-on testing, never influenced by compensation.
